PRIMER ON PMAP CALABARZON
The PMAP CALABARZON Chapter is one of the chapter of the premier human resource organization in the country - the People management Association of the Philippines. PMAP aims to help institutions improve the aspect of management and development of human resources. It develops the professional skills of HR practitioners by establishing standards of excellence, improving competence, establishing social responsibility and participates in nation building.
PMAP CALABARZON boasts of having the largest land area (16,000 sq. kms.) of any chapter including that of Metro Manila. The region also has the highest population (11.7 Million compared to Metro Manila's 11.5M) and the most number of eco-zones(44).
The Chapter conducts General Membership Meetings(GMM) for its members. Every GMM is a learning session wherein seasoned speakers from the government, industry or the academe share their knowledge and experience. In order to cover most of its constituent, these GMMs are held in various towns and cities in the region. Whenever possible these GMMs are held in economic zones to maximize the concentration of employers and employees.
Training is provided the both members and non-members on topics needed to improve the competencies of practitioners in human resources. These topics include discipline Management, Supervision, Training the Trainers, Compensation and Benefits,etc.
To date, the chapter is also proud of being able to hold job fais, medical missions, etc. Chapter members usually give advise to other members and also serves as networking hub. A strong contingent from CALABARZON attends the Annual Convention and the Luzon Summit. Yearly too, a christmas party is celebrated to provide that much needed recreation.
In accordance with the organization's Constitution, an election is held to select the outgoing officers and directors.
